Terms of Use
Last updated October 7, 2026
These terms are a binding agreement. Please read them before you use the site or the assessment. If you don't agree, please don't use Big 5 at Work.
1. Who we are
Big 5 at Work is a sole proprietorship owned by Christin Camacho and registered in Washington State, USA ("Big 5 at Work", "we", "us"). These Terms of Use cover big5atwork.com, the assessment and account app at app.big5atwork.com, our reports, team dashboards, AI features, emails and any related services (together, the "Services"). Questions about these terms: christin.camacho@big5atwork.com.
2. Who can use the Services
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the Services for an employer or other organization, you confirm you are allowed to do so on its behalf, and "you" includes that organization where the context requires.
3. What the assessment is, and what it is not
The Big 5 at Work assessment measures where you fall on five broad personality traits (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism) and, in the full assessment, 29 of their facets (the Liberalism facet of Openness is not scored). It is built on statements adapted from the public-domain IPIP-NEO item pool and reports your results as percentiles compared with a reference group. It is a self-report tool for self-understanding, team conversations and professional development.
It is not a medical, psychological or psychiatric test, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a mental health screening. Some facet names, such as "Anxiety" or "Depression", are standard research labels for everyday tendencies and do not indicate any condition. Nothing in the Services is a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional. If you are worried about your mental health, please talk to a professional. In an emergency in the US, call or text 988 or call 911.
4. No employment decisions
Big 5 at Work results are for development and team conversations. You may not use the assessment, any person's results, team dashboards, colleague ratings or AI-written content to make or support decisions about hiring, selection, promotion, compensation, performance evaluation, discipline, termination or any other employment decision, or to screen anyone for a health condition. Organizations that invite people to the Services are responsible for honoring this restriction and for complying with employment, disability and privacy laws that apply to them.
5. Your account
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure, because anyone with access to it can sign in as you. Give us accurate information, and tell us promptly if you think someone has used your account without permission. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see section 12).
6. Teams, sharing and who can see your scores
Joining a team shares nothing by itself. You choose whether to share your results with a team. When you share, your five trait scores (not your facet scores, full report, answers or AI conversation) become visible to the other members of that team, to anyone named as a lead of that team, and, if the team belongs to a company account, to the company's admins. The team page lists the leads and admins. Big 5 at Work's administrator can also view any company and team, including shared scores, to provide support, maintain the Services and comply with law. You can stop sharing at any time by leaving the team, and a team lead or admin can remove you from a team.
Some teams may turn on two optional features, "Compare with a teammate" and "How others see you". When they are on, a teammate can get a private, AI-written comparison of their shared scores and yours, and a colleague you ask can rate you on the five traits so you can compare their view with yours. These features are off unless a company admin (or, for a team that is not part of a company, the person who started it) turns them on.
7. Organizations, admins and team leads
If you set up a company or team, buy places for others, or are named a company admin or team lead, you agree to: (a) tell the people you invite, before they share, who will be able to see their scores; (b) make sure people take part voluntarily and are not penalized for declining to take the assessment or to share results; (c) use results only as section 4 allows; (d) keep other people's results confidential within your organization and not export, copy or disclose them except as these terms allow; and (e) remove people's access promptly when they leave. If your organization has signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these terms.
8. AI features
Parts of the Services, including your written report, the guided conversation, "Where you fit", "Compare with a teammate" and summaries, are written by artificial intelligence (currently Anthropic's Claude models) using your answers and scores. AI-written content can be incomplete, generic or wrong. Treat it as a starting point for reflection, not as professional advice or a statement of fact about you or anyone else. Do not enter information you don't want processed for these purposes, such as health details or other people's sensitive information, into the AI conversation. Under its commercial terms, our AI provider does not use your data to train its models.
9. Payments and refunds
Prices are shown before you pay and are in US dollars. Current paid items include the full assessment and report, team dashboard setup, places bought in bulk for a team or company, and workshops arranged through us. Payments are processed by our payment providers (currently Stripe and HubSpot), and we do not store your full card number. Taxes may be added where required.
If a paid feature fails to work as described, email us within 30 days and we will fix it or refund that purchase. Places bought in bulk that nobody has used can be refunded within 90 days of purchase. A team dashboard setup fee can be refunded within 14 days of purchase if nobody has shared scores to that dashboard. Otherwise purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires. Nothing we sell renews automatically. Workshops booked with an independent consultant are governed by that consultant's own agreement with you.
10. Ownership and license
We (and our licensors) own the Services, including the site, software, report templates, written content, trait descriptions, the Big 5 at Work name and logo, and the book content. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services and to keep, print and share your own report for your own personal or internal team use. You may not resell the assessment or reports, use them to deliver paid services to others without our written permission, or copy, scrape, reverse engineer or build a competing product from the Services. The IPIP items that the assessment adapts are in the public domain; our adaptations, scoring, norms and content are ours.
11. Your content
You keep ownership of what you give us: your answers, conversation messages, names you enter and any ratings you write ("Your Content"). You give us permission to store, process and display Your Content only to provide, secure and support the Services for you and the teams you share with, and to create aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot reasonably identify you (for example, to improve scoring norms). We do not sell Your Content. When you rate a colleague, you are responsible for what you write. Only you and the colleague you rated will see it.
12. Ending your use, deleting data and discontinuing the Services
You can stop using the Services at any time and can ask us to delete your account and results by emailing christin.camacho@big5atwork.com. Deleting your account removes your results from any team you shared them with. Our Privacy Policy explains how long we keep information. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or is used unlawfully. Sections 4, 9 (refunds already owed), 10, 11 (aggregated statistics), 12 (refunds owed if we discontinue the Services), 13 to 17 and 20 survive after your use ends.
If we discontinue the Services. Big 5 at Work is a small business, and we may not offer the Services forever. We may stop offering any part of the Services, or close them entirely, at any time and for any reason. That includes the assessment, team dashboards, company pages and the Virtual Coach.
If we plan to discontinue the Services, or a paid feature you've bought, we'll email account holders, team leads and company admins at least 30 days before it ends. Until then, the Services stay available so you can view and save your reports. We'll give shorter notice only if the law requires it, if we need to protect users' safety or data, or if events outside our reasonable control make 30 days impossible. In those cases we'll give as much notice as we reasonably can.
If we discontinue the Services:
- Unused places get a full refund, no matter when you bought them.
- Team dashboard setup fees get a full refund if the dashboard was set up less than six months before the end date in our notice.
- Completed assessments, reports and workshops already delivered aren't refunded, because you've already received them.
These refunds are the only remedy we owe for discontinuing the Services. If you have a separate signed agreement with us, its terms apply where they differ. After the Services end, we'll delete personal data as our Privacy Policy describes, except for anything the law requires us to keep.
13. Acceptable use
Don't use the Services to: break the law or other people's rights; invite or add people to a team without their knowledge; pressure anyone to take the assessment or share results; enter someone else's answers or impersonate anyone; harass, demean or discriminate against anyone, including through ratings; upload malware or interfere with the Services; get around access controls, payment or usage limits; or collect other people's data without permission.
14. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Personality results describe tendencies at a point in time and can change. We don't promise that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any result, report or AI-written content is accurate, complete or suited to your purpose.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Big 5 at Work will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Services or these terms, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims related to the Services or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) US $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
16. Indemnity
If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, that organization will defend and indemnify Big 5 at Work against third-party claims, and related losses and reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms, including any use of results in an employment decision, or from your violation of law or anyone's rights.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please email us and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
18. Third-party services and links
The Services rely on and link to services run by others, such as payment processors, email providers and independent consultants. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them, and we aren't responsible for them.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for material changes we will email registered users or show a notice in the Services at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law. If you keep using the Services after changes take effect, the updated terms apply.
20. Everything else
These terms, our Privacy Policy and any separate agreement you sign with us are the whole agreement between us about the Services. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them with our business. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control.
