Privacy Policy

1. What information do we collect?

Information you provide directly:

- Quiz responses: your answers to the free 15-question assessment and, if you purchase the paid tier, the additional facet-level questions and any conflict-scenario selections or free-text input you submit.
- Contact information: your email address, if you provide it to receive quiz results, the personalized report, or to contact us directly.
- Payment information: if you purchase the $15 report, payment is processed by HubSpot (and its payment processor). We do not receive or store your full payment card details — HubSpot handles that transaction and passes us only confirmation that payment was completed, along with the unique code used to unlock your report.
- Anything you send us directly, such as emails or messages through a contact form.

Information collected automatically:

- Basic device and browser information (such as browser type, general location derived from IP address, and pages visited), collected through our hosting and analytics providers (Webflow and Vercel).
- Cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 3.

Information generated by the Services:

- Your five trait scores (and, for paid users, your 30 facet scores) generated from your quiz answers.
- Your personalized written report, generated using Anthropic's Claude API. To create this report, your quiz answers and selected conflict scenario are sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic processes this data to generate your report; it is not used by Anthropic to train its models under our agreement with them.

We do not currently ask for or knowingly collect any information beyond what's needed to run the quiz, generate your report, and process payment.

2. Use of Information

We use the information above to:

- Score your quiz and generate your free results or paid personalized report
- Deliver your report to you and unlock it using your payment confirmation code
- Operate, maintain, and improve the quiz and report experience
- Respond to questions you send us
- Understand aggregate usage of the site (for example, how many people complete the quiz) so we can improve it
- Meet legal and accounting obligations related to payments

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your quiz answers or report content for advertising or marketing to third parties.

3. Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website (hosted on Webflow) and the quiz application (hosted on Vercel) may use cookies or similar local storage to:

- Keep the quiz functioning correctly as you move between questions
- Remember your progress or unlock code within a session
- Collect basic, aggregated analytics about site usage

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking cookies may affect the quiz's ability to save your progress.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the Services, and only as needed to provide them:

- Webflow — hosts big5atwork.com
- Vercel — hosts the quiz application
- HubSpot — processes payment for the paid report and manages the unlock flow
- Anthropic — processes quiz and conflict-scenario data to generate your personalized report

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you.

5. Data Retention

We retain quiz responses, trait/facet scores, and report content for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services (for example, so you can revisit your results) and to meet legal and accounting requirements for payment records. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Request a copy of it
- Request that we delete it
- Correct inaccurate information
- Opt out of the sale or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share data in this way, so there is nothing to opt out of)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

This includes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) for California residents, and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and UK, rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — including the right to object to or restrict processing, and the right to data portability. Our legal basis for processing your quiz and report data is your consent (you choose to take the quiz and purchase the report) and, for payment records, our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate business records.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for working adults and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we rely on the security practices of our service providers (Webflow, Vercel, HubSpot, Anthropic) for the portions of data they handle. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to other websites, including the page for the book Authentic Confidence: Why You Need Neurotic People on Your Team. This policy doesn't cover those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Services evolve. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
